Convert between full-width and half-width characters.
Overview
- Converts between full-width and half-width characters.
- Alphanumeric characters and symbols are converted just by selecting "Full-width → Half-width" or the reverse. Enabling "Also convert katakana" during a "Full-width → Half-width" conversion also converts full-width katakana (including dakuten and handakuten) into half-width katakana.
- When converting from half-width to full-width katakana, half-width katakana with a dakuten mark (e.g., ｶﾞ) is correctly combined into a single full-width katakana character (e.g., ガ).
Usage
- Enter the text you want to convert into "Input".
- Select "Full-width → Half-width" or the reverse under "Direction".
- When "Full-width → Half-width" is selected, enable "Also convert katakana" if needed.
- The converted result is shown in "Output" in real time.

FAQ
When should I use "Also convert katakana"?
This option only applies to "Full-width → Half-width" conversion. When enabled, full-width katakana is also converted to half-width katakana. When disabled, only alphanumeric characters and symbols are converted, and katakana is left as-is.
Is katakana always converted in half-width → full-width conversion?
Yes. "Half-width → Full-width" conversion converts alphanumeric characters, symbols, and katakana all at once.
Are hiragana or kanji converted?
No. The full-width/half-width distinction mainly applies to alphanumeric characters, symbols, and katakana, since hiragana and kanji do not have this distinction.
